One Dead and One Injured in Clovis Shooting

A man was killed and another was injured in a Clovis shooting that occurred in the area of the 700 block of East Fifth Street on Wednesday, April 28, around 9:00 a.m. 

Clovis Police officers were sent to a gunshot victim who was outside of a building in the 300 block of North Price Street; the area where they found the shot man is less than two blocks from where the shooting was reported. 

According to the authorities, a fifty-eight-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The wounded man was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Officers who got to the scene of the 700 block of East Fifth Street found another victim, a fifty-three-year-old man who had several gunshot wounds to his torso. He was also taken to Plains Regional Medical Center but died from his injuries. Clovis Police Department reported that a suspect was seen running from the area and is currently in custody.

The police have not identified the arrested suspect. The authorities say the victims of the Clovis shooting will be identified after their family members are notified.
