Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers are now asking you for any info you might have about a severe accident in Albuquerque that critically injured a child. According to the Crime Stoppers reports on June 7, 2021, around 2 p.m. an accident in Albuquerque between two vehicles occurred at the intersection of Zuni Road and California Street.
The authorities say that a dark gray 2012 Dodge Charger was seen speeding on California St. approaching the intersection of Zuni Rd. Crime Stoppers says that the vehicle did not stop at the stop sign and attempted to cross the intersection at a high speed.
Once the Charger entered the intersection, it crashed into a white 2011 Kia Optima with three occupants inside – a driver, a passenger, and an eight-year-old child who got serious injuries and were taken to the Unversity of New Mexico Hospital. The authorities report that two occupants were inside the Dodge Charger – a white man wearing a blue t-shirt and white shorts was seen getting out of the driver side of the car. He was accompanied by a black man wearing a white shirt and black pants (he was exiting the passenger side).
Crime Stoppers states that witnesses said they saw the black man retrieve a bottle of an alcoholic drink. Both men fled the scene on foot and ran westbound in a nearby alleyway south of the intersection.
